They protect your engine against rust, heat and limescale, transfer braking force, keep your visibility free and the air cleaner... In short, nothing works without them. Discover Volkswagen Genuine Operating Fluids.
A standard of its own for your safety.
More safety under heavy strain, more time until the next service. Volkswagen Genuine Brake Fluid has been developed in conjunction with your brake system and is far more than just standard – to be more precise, it sets its own standard: VW Standard 501 14.
Brake fluid needs to satisfy high requirements.
Brake fluid is hygroscopic: It absorbs water, thereby preventing drops from forming in the brake system – the cause of rust and reduced braking force.
High boiling point.
Brake fluid must not boil, as this gives rise to compressible vapour bubbles. The full braking force is not then transferred to the brakes.
Brake fluid absorbs moisture, thereby keeping the water content in your brake system low. However, this means that it rises in the brake fluid over time. If it is too high, the boiling point falls and vapour bubbles may form. When you depress the brake, these bubbles are compressed. Braking force is lost.
Your brakes must work reliably – for your safety and the safety of others. Have only trained specialists carry out any work on brakes, preferably at your Volkswagen Partner.
With a new Volkswagen, you should have the first change of brake fluid after three years – after that, we recommend a change every two years.
Maximum protection with maximum performance.
If you accelerate, things start getting very hot in your engine – actually, too hot for many materials. Volkswagen G13 Genuine Coolant Additive cools reliably even under heavy strain. At the same time, the innovative formulation protects against limescale, corrosion, and acids. Perfect – even for fully aluminium engines.

Is illuminated: Coolant level too low, Temperature too high or system faulty.
Flashes: Coolant system faulty.
Temperature indicator in the warning range?
Stop, switch off the engine and let it cool down. Only then, continue driving. Check coolant level.
Temperature indicator in the normalrange?
Check the coolant level when the engine has cooled down and top coolant up, ifnecessary. Is the level OK? Caution: fault! Don't continue driving; contact your Service Advisor.
Avoid high engine rpms and heavy engine strain.
Strong on dirt. Gentle on your car.
Rain and insects: No matter what is in the air today, Volkswagen Genuine Windscreen Clear will enable you to retain a clear view. At the same time, the special formulation protects your windscreens and the windscreen washer against frost and limescale – without leaving marks on your paintwork.
